
Get your five servings of veggies in a fun way! This quick and easy recipe will get your whole family to eat their broccoli without complaints. As a mom who works full time, I need to find creative ways to get the entire family to eat healthy and this recipe has been a lifesaver for nights when I simply don’t have the energy to cook. It is quick, easy, and customizable!

A great thing about this recipe is that it only needs two things! For the frozen vegetable packet I like to use a mixture of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. However, you can explore different options until you find the mix you like best!

How to Make Homemade Air Fryer Veggie Tots:
To keep things simple, I use a frozen packet of vegetables and a potato. Just microwave the veggies per the instructions on the bag and cook your potato (I use the same method you would use for a microwaved baked potato). Then just toss the vegetables and potato into a mason jar and season to taste.
- For seasoning, I pretty much always use Badia Sazon Completa. It is flavorful and is a timesaver because I don’t have to pull out all of my spices. This seasoning mix is a staple in my house! Another way to jazz up the vegetable tots is to season them for the meal you’re having. Tacos? Add taco seasoning to your veggie tots! Italian? Toss in some rosemary and thyme! Indian? Spice it up with curry and garam masala! The possibilities are endless as to how you can season your vegetables. Don’t be afraid to try different combinations!
After adding some flavor to your delicious homemade veggie tots, the next step is to blend your ingredients together. You don’t want to completely liquify this but rather give it a mashed texture. I have tried this recipe out by mashing the steamed vegetables with a fork, but this method is much quicker and hides the vegetables if you have picky eaters. Once the mixture is blended, squeeze out the excess moisture.
After blending and squeezing the excess moisture form the mixture into tots and toss them into your air fryer for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Enjoy as is or use your favorite sauce!

Homemade Air Fryer Veggie Tots
Equipment
- mason jar
- immersion blender
- air fryer
Ingredients
- 1 russet potato
- 1 frozen vegetable packet – broccoli, cauliflower, carrot
Instructions
- Cook your packet of frozen vegetables per the instructions on the bag.
- Combine ingredients in a mason jar and season to taste.
- Use immersion blender until the right consistency is achieved.
- Form the mash into "tot" form and add to air fryer.
- Cook for 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
Notes
If the mix is too mushy, add flour a tablespoon at a time until you’re able to properly form the tots. Sometimes, frozen vegetables contain different amounts of moisture, so there is no set amount of flour to add. It will depend on your veggies!
