The month of March flew by for me – it was jam-packed with fun events, birthdays, and exciting adventures. From new book discoveries to sweet family moments and a special homemade cake, I can’t wait to share my highlights.
FOR MAMA
I finally finished reading the Fourth Wing series, and now I’m back on my reading grind! This month, I dove into The Shepherd King Duology by Rachel Gillig—my first dark fantasy read, and I’m loving it way more than expected. I am normally a romantasy kind of girl, but this series had just the right amount of romance and action to captivate me.I found myself sneaking in chapters during lunch breaks and staying up late to finish just one more page. Huge shoutout to my friend who recommended it!

FOR BABY
My son, Alexander, has been having a blast this month discovering how to play with our cat, Biscuit. He has learned that he can crawl to her toy bin and get out a wand cat toy to play with her. It is so cute getting to see him interact with her in such a playful way. The best part is that they play with each other for a while, and it tires them both out! It does make me a bit nervous to have them so close together since my cat is a bit crazy… but this new milestone is helping me let go and embrace their sweet bond. Safe to say, Alexander’s favorite “toy” of the month is a cat wand!

FAVORITE ACTIVITY
This month my favorite activity has definitely been evening walks. After work, my husband, son, and I take strolls around our neighborhood—it’s the perfect way to unwind, catch up on our day, and spend quality time together. Some days on our walks we stop at the community playground and play on the slides. It is so fun getting these special moments in the afternoon to have fun as a family. Walking will forever be one of my favorite activities.

FAVORITE RECIPE
My husband’s birthday was this month, so you already know I had to make him a homemade cake! For his 31st birthday, he requested a cookies and cream flavored cake so you already know I had to put 31 Oreos in it! I took a lot of inspiration from Broma Bakery’s Oreo Cake Recipe, but added my own twist – a chocolate ganache in between layers for extra decadence. It was definitely a very rich cake – I could only handle one slice! Thankfully, it was a huge hit with my husband and our family.

I love writing these monthly favorites posts—they help me reflect on all the fun moments throughout the year. While March was jam-packed, I’m actually looking forward to slowing down with some cozy weekends at home. I can’t wait to see what April brings! In the meantime, check out last month’s favorites if you missed them!
